![]() Even if the fault lies with the authors, I thought that extensions were supposed to be checked before they were allowed on the site - they used to be, anyway. Albeit similar, but apparently from different authors, neither of them work correctly with my version of 102.11 so it appears likely they are the wrong version. For example, a search from within the Manager for "calendar" gives a page with "Google Calendar Tab" and "Open Google Calendar " on it. I doubt the authors have control over this. This actually could be the fault of the extensions but as more than one from different authors have problems it is more likely that the site (or its operators) is not sorting them into version correct types. it shows extensions which are not compatible with 102.11. In some cases, although searching from the Add-ons Manager appears to give correct results. The fact that the Manager failed in both our cases, it works just fine via Google, which might well suggest a problem with the Manager. However, I can't see that there is any problem with the extension - it seems to me it is the website that is wrongly set up or the Addons Manager is faulty. Yes, I can reproduce what you did exactly. ![]() I'm getting very old now and may not have that long :-) I haven't been to Bugzilla yet - past experience dictates that it takes forever to get answers there (if at all) and I'm hoping to cut out some of the wait the wait. I can't find anything on this support site. I'm getting very old now and may not have that long :-)įailing all else can anyone point me to any more help on the topic. My questions therefore are:-ġ) Are the en-us and en-gb sites really separate sites, or am I wasting my time specifying which site I use?Ģ) Is the extension system really as comprehensively broken as it seems to be?ģ) Is anyone doing anything about it? I don't know where to contact the devs direct.įailing all else can anyone point me to any more help on the topic. For example the "Open Google Calendar" extension sort of works but has random text overwriting parts of the the calendar. However, subsequently the same has happened from the en-us address, despite specifying the correct version of Thunderbird, extensions fail from there too. After a Usenet discussion I tried getting them from the en-us version of the site and got at least one extension that worked OK. ![]() When I use the inbuilt add-ons manager it goes to the en-gb extensions site ( not unexpectedly, but I'm slightly surprised there is more than one site.) If I specify my version of Thunderbird it supplies outdated and/or unsuitable extensions which will not work with my version of Thunderbird. I used Thunderbird for many years and have just returned to it. I'm using Thunderbird 102.11.0 64bit EN-GB version.
